I have a week to prepare for my AKU test. I could not prepare before because i had my SAT 2 and A levels exams. Is there anything specific that I should focus on? Are there any tips that I could use to prepare quickly?

  3. Well just wanted to put in there, you guys are doing a great job. I have been searching for blogs/groups/pages regarding AKU/AKU admissions on facebook/blogspot etc but found none, even searched for student profiles but it didn't work. Hopefully found a blog today and copied almost every post in my evernote (xD). I am currently studying in LUMS; really want my sisters to get into AKU, this blog has proved to be very helpful for me. Thankyou so much again.

    1. Haha, thank you so much Kashan. Honestly, was in a similar position when applying to AKU; couldnt find any blog or website for information regarding the admission process apart from the official AKU website. This blog was made to fulfill that need where the students themselves share their experiences of how they made it in the top 100 that apply to AKU

    1. As far as I remember in 2012, transcripts were NOT required.

  5. Hey, could anyone over here shed some light on their AKU experiance? How was it like studying there? How was the teaching system? Did they have any affiliations with universities abroad? How was the campus and the people there? Were there more people from A'levels present? How were the hostels and general living conditions? Is it worth it?

  6. Hi guys!
AKU is my dream medical school and I was pretty crushed when my A level result came out (ABB) because no way can that be good enough for AKU. So I have a question..would it be wise to repeat my A levels or are there people with similar grades who make it?
I don't expect you to decide for me but please please please just give me some advice. I'd be really grateful..thanks in advance :)

  7. I was wondering about the financial assistance policy of akus. And if one gets in and is in need of loans or grants what is the range of it? As in minimum loan or grant they would offer till the maximum? Please let me know thanks! I found the form online and it mentioned how they need to know almost everything. Number of acs, tvs, laptops, cars and property you own

  12. Hi. I would just like to know exactly how important are co-curricular activities in gaining admission to AKU. Because i have an almost non-existent co-curricular activity record. I mostly participated in sports but have only one or two certificates to show for it and probably one debates certificate. I also have no community/volunteer work. So how much will it affect my chances?

  13. PLease continue the blog with updated information. It is very helpful to every student, who wants to seek admission.

    1. Hear hear.
I sincerely apologise for not updating and contributing to the blog for the past few years now. Currently am really busy with final year. Hopefully I'll try to get a new junior contributor to this blog soon. Even Lubaina seems to be pretty busy with fourth year.
If you could follow the advice of this blog in general, have a good look at AKU's website for more info and do your level best in your studies, you should have a good shot at admission to AKU.
      Best of luck!
