For the 2014 Applicants

Hey there prospective AKU-ites/AKU-ians (Yeah, we don't have a specific 'name' for the AKU students)

This blog aims to help out all those who wish to apply to AKU's Medical College. If you're confused about how to prepare for the AKU test or the AKU admission procedure then you have come to the right place.

Getting to the point, the dates for this year have been updated.
For now just focus on clearing the aptitude test and the rest comes later.
\

First comes your application form, then your aptitude test followed by interview and Form II only if the aptitude test is cleared.

In the aptitude test one has to get a percentage higher then the passing percentage which changes every year. For 2013, the passing percentage for Paper 1 was 55% and for Paper 2 was 66%.

Here is the a brief outline of the AKU aptitude test pattern:

The above is just a brief outline regarding the admission procedure. Do view the links below for detailed information.

  6. Hey, is the paper pattern similar to the sample test paper provided for that year? Because the STP for 2014 test has no expository or argumentative writing, so are they trying to trick us?

    1. Yes. No essay this year.
The English part is going to be based on MCQs only.

    1. You either need to give NAT - IM or UHS MCAT.
It's only a rule imposed by PMDC.

    2. umm whats NAT-IM?
and what if i dont take either of these?
what about mcat marks? how much are required?

      Delete
    3. Well, if you are giving MCAT then aim for high marks.
AKU has not set any criteria for the range of MCAT marks needed.
But yes, giving UHS MCAT (Punjab students) or DUHS MCAT (Sindh Students) or ETEA (KPK students) or any NTS Test is a requirement for AKU now.

  12. hi! :D
could you please clarify AKU's selection criteria i.e. the weightage of the entry test and the interview respectively? i cant find it anywhere. :(

    1. Because, the truth be told, none of us know that criteria. Just give the test your best. Then, focus on the interview.

  13. Hello there!
I wanted to know if there are separate percentages for English and the other test including math, science ,etc OR both test's percentages are combined together ?
Secondly, what are the passing percentages for 2016 test?
